A social dance party is the heart of the WCS community. No lessons, no choreography, no exams. Just music, a dance floor, and people who love the same things as you. The doors are open to everyone: from first-timers to professionals.

Typical course of an evening

Most social dance events start off relaxed. Often there's a short warm-up or a mini-workshop at the beginning—perfect for beginners. After that, music simply plays, and anyone who wants to dance, dances.

Asking someone to help you is completely normal and part of the concept. You can ask anyone—regardless of level or experience. And you can also decline without it being considered strange.

What if I'm not good enough yet?

This is the question that holds most beginners back — and it's completely understandable. But here's the honest answer: You'll never be "good enough" if you don't start.

WCS socials thrive on mixed skill levels. Experienced dancers enjoy dancing with beginners—it's a different style of dance, but not a worse one. And most people in the community still remember exactly what it feels like to be new.

What should I wear?

Comfortable and flexible – that's all you need. Many people dance in everyday clothes. More important than the outfit are the shoes: soles that don't stick to the floor make dancing much more pleasant. Smooth leather soles or special dance shoes are ideal, but for beginners, a regular sneaker with a smooth sole will do.
